POKERRUN PLANNED FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 11TH, 2012

VOLUNTEER DEALERS NEEDED
BSGAC MEMBERS ONLY

Our BSGAC Poker Run is always hugely popular and enjoyed by all! We are planning our spring Poker Run for March 11th. In order to organize this event we need 10 volunteers who are willing to open up their homes for a couple of hours from 3 – 5 PM to assist us with this event. All volunteer hosts in the past have had a great time, and some have volunteered numerous times. As most of the participants in this event collect their poker hands by traveling house – to – house on a golf cart, we would like to get volunteers from within the Marina to eliminate the hazards associated with golf carts darting back and forth across Vincent Ave and through the Lakes. Dealers are asked to greet participants at their homes from 3 until 5 PM, shuffle cards, and allow each player to draw a card from the deck. The dealer then notes the card which was drawn on the player’s scorecard. Previous dealers have offered beer, wine and soft drinks to players as a way to meet and socialize with other residents. Others have offered light snacks. However, offering beverages and snacks is not a requirement for participation. Those willing to act as dealers should contact Cliff Ritterpusch so that we can begin to organize this event. If you would like to volunteer and help us out please contact Events Coordinator Cliff Ritterpusch. I’ll need your address, the name of the Association where you live, your phone number and email address. I can be reached by phone at 941-621-2709 or by email at:critterpusch@gmail.com

Give Your Club an Anniversary Gift
Contribute to the Flame Keepers Fund

Each year on our Anniversary the Hole Sponsorships come up for renewal or first time sponsors. This timing allows us to get projects done in the off season.  We hope all our past sponsors will renew and many new members will come forward to sponsor a golf hole for $1,000 and have their name sign on a hole for one year.  Gifts of any denomination to the Flame Keepers fund are always most welcome.  You may designate how your gift will be used or leave it to the Board and management to decide.  Gifts may also be made in memorial.  All donors will be listed on the lobby displays.

The Engraved Brick program is another way you can give to your Club.  We are currently holding an order for two bricks waiting for more orders. Please note that our flag was getting tattered and it is being replaced for Memorial Day.  We expect that replacement will be necessary twice a year on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.  Replacements come from our Engraved Brick program funds.
