Wii is an interactive, unbelievably realistic game in which the player wears a controller and goes through the motions of playing a sport while looking at our big screen TV. Wii bowling will have you thinking that you are actually in a real bowling alley! We would like to get an ongoing Wii bowling league established at the Linkside Café. Anyone interested should be at the Linkside Café next Wednesday, January 13 th at 3 p.m. Don't forget - January is "Double Your Discount" month for draft beers, pitchers of beer, well drinks and wine! Come on over to the Clubhouse, enjoy cold drinks, try our new appetizers and have some fun! If you aren't sure whether or not you wish to play, just come in and watch and be entertained!

The BSGAC is excited to announce that we will be offering another 4 week session of "Zumba Gold" Classes on Wednesday evenings beginning January 20th. You may sign up for individual classes or for the entire series.
Zumba Gold is a series of fitness programs specifically designed to take exciting Latin and International dance rhythms and bring the original Zumba program to the active older adult, beginner participant, etc. These programs are guaranteed to provide the participant with a safe and effective total body workout in a party-like atmosphere. Everyone is invited to join us on Saturday, February 13th as one of Golf's best trick artists and entertainers will be coming to our Club to put on an exhibition that is sure to delight everyone! Jay's show is approximately 40 minutes long and combines golf tips, long drives, long putts, and humor. Jay has even done stand up comedy in New York! The Linkside Café will have the outdoor grills fired up and will be offering for purchase delicious hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks! Plan on arriving early to assure yourself of a parking spot and a good place to view the show. Jay will be offering 2 shows to allow for our members to choose the show which best accommodates their schedule. Lawn chairs are welcome!
To best accommodate golf play and allow for these shows there will be 2 Shotgun starts. The 1st Shotgun will take place at 8:15am and will be our annual Sadie Hawkins Two Person Mixed Scramble. (See separate email blast and flyers for details of this event!) The first "Golf Trick Artist Show" will take place at the conclusion of the morning shotgun at Noon. The afternoon shotgun will begin at 1:15pm. The second show will begin at 3:45pm

The Activity Committee in conjunction with Belk Department Store will present a fashion show and luncheon which will be served by the Linkside staff. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by the show. Door prizes and raffle will round out the festivities. Meal choices should be made at the time of registration. There will be limited seating for 60 guests for optimal view of fashions. Please arrive at 11:30 so that the luncheon may be served promptly at Noon. INSTRUCTOR: Vicki Wilson

Reiki is a healing practice in alternative medicine in which healing energy is channeled from the practitioner to the patient to enhance energy and reduce stress, pain and fatigue. Vicki Wilson, a Reiki Master, will discuss the art of Reiki and demonstrate the practice of self-administering some Reiki techniques. She will also discuss the possibilities for the use of Reiki as therapy for our pets. If there is sufficient interest at this introductory session, we will schedule a series if class instruction. Cost: $12 for AARP members (Bring AARP card to 1st class)
Cost is $14 for non-AARP members
The next AARP DRIVERS EDUCATION CLASS is now a one-day class and is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23rd. At the conclusion of the class the instructor will pass out the certificates to all attendees which may allow them to receive a reduced fee on their automobile insurance. Checks must be made payable to AARP and advance registration is required. To register please stop by the Administration Office from 9 AM until 5 PM Monday thru Friday. Alternately, you may call the Administration Office at 639-4151. A minimum of 10 students is required. Payment must be made at the time of registration. Make check payable to AARP.

Wii is an interactive, unbelievably realistic game in which the player wears a controller and goes through the motions of playing a sport while looking at our big screen TV. Wii bowling will have you thinking that you are actually in a real bowling alley! We would like to get an ongoing Wii bowling league established at the Linkside Café. Anyone interested should be at the Linkside Café next Wednesday, January 13 th at 3 p.m. Don't forget - January is "Double Your Discount" month for draft beers, pitchers of beer, well drinks and wine! The BSGAC is excited to announce that we will be offering another 4 week session of "Zumba Gold" Classes on Wednesday evenings beginning February 17th. You may sign up for individual classes or for the entire series.
Zumba Gold is a series of fitness programs specifically designed to take exciting Latin and International dance rhythms and bring the original Zumba program to the active older adult, beginner participant, etc. This fun Latin inspired dance program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco and Rock and Roll. These programs are guaranteed to provide the participant with a safe and effective total body workout in a party-like atmosphere. It is fun, different, easy and effective. These 2-hour classes are designed to help you to maintain and improve your mental capabilities! The instructor is Sue Maxwell, Director of Gerontology at Lee Memorial Hospital. Programs of this nature are highlighted and discussed in this month's issue of "Consumer Reports". We are fortunate and pleased to be able to offer this series to our members.
