Exercise, mental stimulation, and other measures can help your brain adapt to new demands; a capability known as neuroplasticity. Jory Pearson, instructor and owner of "Florida Paddle Sports" will instruct this 4 hour class designed to provide you with all the basic techniques of kayaking. You will spend about one hour in classroom basics (on the patio at the clubhouse) and then proceed to the marina where you will be provided with a kayak and related necessary equipment to learn and enjoy with instructor supervision. Join your friends for a beautiful cruise up historic Hunter's Creek! We will join Captain Louie on his boat at Laishley Marina and for the next 3 hours explore some of the most beautiful tributaries of the Peace River. See large nesting sites of herons, view the waterways frequently used by the Calusa Indians, see some of the early settlers' homes and some of the most beautiful developed properties. Bring your camera and binoculars as Capt. Louie narrates our trip. As we return to the marina the group will enjoy a great lunch provided by Dean's as part of this tour. We are excited to announce that Brad Dunaway is returning this fall and is looking forward to resuming the hugely popular ZUMBA classes. These classes will be held on the lanai of the Linkside Café on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM beginning on October 13th. You may sign up for individual classes or for the entire series.
Zumba Gold is a fitness program designed to take exciting Latin and International dance rhythms and bring the original Zumba program to the active older adult, beginner participant, etc. This fun Latin inspired dance program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco and Rock and Roll. These programs are guaranteed to provide the participant with a safe and effective total body workout in a party-like atmosphere. It is fun, different, easy and effective.

The Activity Committee in conjunction with Talbots Department Store will be presenting a fashion show and luncheon at the Linkside Café on Tuesday, October 26th. This event sells out quickly so do not delay making your reservation. Seating is limited for 60 guests in a horseshoe configuration for optimal viewing of the fashion show. Please arrive at 11:30 so that the luncheon may be served promptly at noon. There will be no food allowed on the tables during the fashion show. The show will take place following lunch, and door prizes and raffles will round out the festivities! Reservations must be made at the Administration Office by noon on Tuesday, October 19th. When making your reservation please be prepared to choose your lunch choice from the below selections:

This informative program will be presented by distinguished lecturer, artist and historian Guy LeBree who has lived with the Seminole tribe of Florida his entire life. A self-taught artist, his works appear in the American Indian Exhibit of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Come and enjoy some of his magnificent work as Guy talks about the history of the Seminole tribe. Chief James Billie has described Guy as a real historian of the tribe and trusts him to pass on the histories of his people. Don't miss this wonderful interactive lecture. Join us on Saturday, October 30th as we celebrate the reopening of all 27 holes and play the newly renovated greens for the first time! Prior to play there will be a drawing to determine which teams will begin play on the new greens! Advance registration and payment is required. This event is also designed to raise funds to purchase new tee box signage for all of our holes! These news signs are badly needed as the old signs are deteriorating and need to be updated with correct yardage distances for each tee box. (See attached picture which will show condition of our signs).
There will be lots of chances to win prizes included in your entry fee! In addition to prizes to be awarded to the winning teams, there will also be a $5 chipping contest, a $5 putting contest and a $5 drawing. Half of all monies collected will be returned as prizes and the other half will be utilized to defray the cost of the new signage.
Beverage cart service will be available during the tournament!
Following play enjoy free beer, wine (Chablis, Burgundy or White Zinfandel), fountain drinks and iced tea until 3 PM or until the supply runs out! Hot dogs and hamburgers will be available for purchase from our outside grill!
Plan on joining your friends for a day of great golf, food, drink and camaraderie while at the same time helping us to continue to improve our golf course. Sign up now at the Pro Shop (Cash or check only). You must be signed up by Noon on Thursday, October 28th.

Get those creative juices flowing and put on your thinking caps! This year there will be an "OPEN THEME" for our Halloween Party, so now is the time to start working on your costumes! Prizes will be awarded for best costume, most creative costume and funniest costume! Of course, although costumes are encouraged, feel free to come as you like and join in on the festivities. Back by popular demand to provide the music and entertainment for the evening is singer Alex Alexandro. His songs will transport you back in time to those carefree days of yesteryear! Our main dining room is sure to fill up quickly, and the overflow will be seated on the lanai, so be sure to make your reservations early by stopping by or calling the Administration Office. Tickets must be purchased by no later than noon on Tuesday, October 26th. Please be prepared to choose your entrée from the below selections when making your reservation:
1. Beef tips in Marsala sauce, baked potato and fresh steamed asparagus…..$25 plus tax and gratuity.
2. Shrimp Scampi over linguini…..$25 plus tax and gratuity.
Both entrees accompanied by Caesar salad, warm dinner rolls and chef's dessert. Ticket price also includes cost of the entertainment.
