using Joyce’s ball, Bernie hits the 2nd shot).
The remainder of the hole is played as an alternate shot format until
the ball is in the hole. This
game will be flighted and handicapped.

members, and in an effort to increase participation, we have changed the
format of what was originally called the monthly Golf Members Only Nine and
Dine. This monthly event is now open to all BSGAC members! The
tournament will be scheduled on the third Friday of every month (unless
there is a conflict, holiday, etc). The game will change monthly.
In order to play, all you need to do is sign up on the bulletin board!
At the conclusion of this month’s Nine and Grill we will be drawing the
winning raffle tickets for the BSGAC Club Enhancement Fundraiser. We
are expecting a large turnout, so we are keeping the game simple! This
month’s game will be a Team Scramble. Golfers of all skill levels are

singer/songwriter/recording artist and neighbor is appearing for a one-night
acoustic concert at the Linkside Café on Wednesday, November 16th.

food which is sure to go well with the Coronas and Margaritas that are a

If you have never participated in our poker run, you
have missed out on one of our most popular events of the year! Don’t miss
this one! For this event all participants will check in at the
Activity Center at 3 PM. Each person will be given a Poker Scorecard
and assigned a route of 5 residences to visit and return to the Club by 5
PM. At each residence, you will draw one card towards a 5-card poker
hand, and proceed to the next residences on your route to complete your
poker hand. Each stop will enable everyone to socialize with old
friends, make some new friends and share in what is truly a fun event.
This is a social event and not a race! Some of the homes participating
will be offering refreshments. Although it is called a “Golf Cart
Poker Run”, all participants may use whatever means they wish to leave the
club and return with a complete poker hand by 5pm. Some residents have
4-person carts you may want to team up with. Those without golf carts
may wish to bicycle, travel by car, walk, etc. If you wish to team up
with another pair for this event please register as a foursome so that you
will have the same route of 5 homes to visit. The Scorecards must be
returned by 5PM to the Administration Office where the scoring will take
place. The Mexican Buffet will begin at 5 PM at the Linkside Café.

The theme of our Halloween
Party this year is cross-dressing! Most of our members were not here
years ago when we hosted this theme at a Halloween party. When it was
first announced, lots of people said – “you’ll never get the guys to dress
up as girls”. Boy were they wrong! I think there must be a lot
of secret cross-dressers in our midst, because we had more people in costume
than at any other Halloween Party! It turned out to be the most
hilarious and talked about party ever! Let’s just say that some of the
guys were very alluring and attractive in their outfits and makeup and some
of the gals were very convincing in their manly outfits. I’m not
mentioning any names, but one of the gals could have passed for Howard Stern
himself! We even had a crotchety old Italian lady at the party who had
everybody guessing for hours! The highlight of the evening was a full
wedding party, including the bride the groom, the bridesmaids, groomsmen,
and priest! We can’t wait to see who enters the door this year!

be in costume to attend our Halloween parties. If you prefer not to
dress up, just come as you are and get ready for a fun and memorable
evening!

Cliff
came up with this game last spring and everyone wanted to do it again!
The name of this game is “The Junk Hunt”. All participants must bring
a plastic Publix grocery bag full of “stuff”. When the game begins,
Cliff will have a large list of items which he will announce one item at a
time. Will you have that item? What weird, perverse items will
his twisted mind be looking for? Bring your stuff to dinner and find
out! The Linkside Café will be set in tables of 6, so everyone will be
divided into teams of 6. For example, if Cliff asks for a nail, and
your table shows him 2 nails, your team will receive 2 points. Hint –
don’t bother bringing nails. (Some examples of the items he called out
last time were: rabbits foot, birthmark, dental floss, stool
softener). Who knows what he will be looking for this time! The
teams ending up with the most points at the end of the game will win Burnt
Store Bucks certificates. You may sign up as a team of 6, or if you
sign up individually we will assign you to a team. If we wind up with
a table of less than 6, a couple of people may be asked to bring 2 bags.
Karen Ritterpusch will be the judge who will count the items and decide
whether the items produced match the item being asked for. This game
is a hoot – sign up now at the Administration Office. When
signing up be prepared to choose your dinner entrée from below. Please
sign up by noon on Monday, October 17th.

Tuesday of every month for a fun and exciting evening of BUNCO! The
next BUNCO game will be played on August 16th. Bunco
is a dice game that is played in tables of 4. It is very simple to learn and
is loads of fun! Winners are paid out in Linkside Dollars with payouts
based on the number of people playing. Sign up to play at the
Administration Office by noon on Tuesday, the day of the game. Please
be prepared to pay your $10 entry fee in cash at the time of sign-up.
SUMMER SCHEDULE CHANGES
AT THE LINKSIDE CAFÉ
As we move into the summer your management team has
been closely monitoring the daily financials of the club.
Our objective is to be as cost effective as possible while continuing
our operations for our summer residents and members!
Our population and thus our patronage have drastically decreased
during the past several weeks.
We feel it is in the best interest of the club to make several changes at
this time for the remainder of the off-season.
Please note the following changes to our Linkside Café schedule
1.
Beginning on Friday, July 8th
breakfast will no longer be available at the Linkside Café on Fridays,
Saturdays and Sundays. Coffee,
muffins and breakfast sandwiches will be available daily from 7 am until 11
am at the BSGAC Golf and Gift Shop.
2.
Effective Sunday, July 10th the
kitchen will be closed on Sundays. However hot dogs will be available at the
Linkside Café and the bar will be open on Sundays from 11 am until 5 pm.
Also, please be reminded that the Administration Office
is now open from 10 am until 2 pm Monday thru Friday,
